Benefits of Beauty Oils

I’m a beauty lover, always have been, but I realized I haven’t shared one of my beauty obsessions with you yet. I’m talking about beauty oils and I might have an addiction! Just like there are a lot of these oils, there are a lot of potential benefits as well.

Depending on what kind of skin you have and what you’re looking to treat, you’ll want to find an oil that works best for your specific situation. Don’t worry though, there’s an oil for just about everything. I’m excited to cover the benefits of some of my favorites below!

Anti-aging

Anti-aging is one of the most common benefits of beauty oils. Tata Harper is a brand I’ve heard a lot about and really want to try since they’re non toxic. They have a Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil that I’ve been told can literally take years off your skin. I’m always looking for products that can do a lot in one punch (busy mom problems) and this appears to do just that.  This is on the top of my list to try for my non-pregnant skin.

Improve texture and reduce redness

This is one of the main reasons I started using a facial oil. My skin can get blotchy and have an uneven tone, so I was really looking for beauty oils to help tame that. I’ve been using Kora Organics Noni Face Glow Oil and am loving it. I’ve also heard a lot of good things about Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil, which helps with wrinkles, redness and texture. Maybe next on my list to try?

Self-tanning

I don’t know about you, but this mama likes to keep a nice tan all year long. Turns out oil can be used for that, too! St. Tropez, a veteran in the self-tanner world, has this base covered with its Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil. I haven’t tried this yet, but it’s very high on the list with summer ending. Plus, it has lots of positive reviews.

Moisturizing primer

Do you ever start putting your makeup on and your skin just feels stiff and dry? There’s an oil for that! Smashbox came out with its Photo Finish Primer Oil that hydrates, helps reduce those fine lines and reduces redness. Sounds like a win-win to me!

Cleansing

The Squalane + Antioxidant Cleaning Oil from Biossance was the first beauty oil I tried and I’m still using and loving it. If you’re into double cleansing, this would be a great first cleanse because it gently washes off makeup while still hydrating my skin. It’s also a “clean at Sephora” product (so are many of the others on this list), which I love. Another oil cleanser I want to try is the SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil. It’s also supposed to be great for washing away makeup and dirt from the day while conditioning the skin. Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it?

All of these benefits and products sound fantastic to me, so you can count me in when it comes to adding beauty oils to my skincare routine.  And if you’re pregnant, you already know that I love oils for my growing belly (see post here).  The Hatch Belly Oil and Mama Mio are amazing to hydrate and prevent stretch marks for your growing up.
