Finding Fit-spiration

Finding time to workout is now harder than ever.  I regret the the pre-baby moments when I was simply too lazy to hit the gym and just sat around.  Now, what I wouldn’t give just to have an hour to workout on some days.
When I do have time, I’m so tired and usually have so many other things to do, so getting on a consistent schedule is difficult. It is seriously a love/hate relationship.  But I know fitness is an important part of my overall health so I try to find extra motivation to just get it done!  It helps not only give me the energy to tackle my day but also provides mental clarity that is desperately needed when you’re dealing with a 1-year old all day.  And I never regret it when I’m done since I feel so good.
Lately, I’ve become a big fan of taking spin and pilates classes. Since I love early morning sessions, its nice to just show up and have someone tell you what to do. And the energy of the other people working out around you is an instant pick me up.  If you have a competitive spirit, having others around also helps keep you engaged and on your toes.
Working out with friends also gives me good motivation but its very challenging to coordinate schedules these days.  So now I look to fit mamas on social or blogs. Check out Andee Layne of The Honey Bee or Becky Hillyard of Cella Jane.  I am so impressed with how they balance fitness and eating healthy with their busy mom life.  Their bodies would make anyone run to the gym immediately.
And lastly, cute workout gear usually gets me moving.  Just like a good power suit can give someone the utmost confidence to crush that meeting or presentation at work, a good fitting pant or jacket can push you get to your spin class or run those extra miles.  You look good so why not show it off in action, right?  I also love workout clothes that I can wear while running errants, or, lets be honest, when I’m just lounging and have no plans to actually work out.  And this entire outfit from Albion is the perfect example of my go-to fitness/lounge wear.  These leggings I might actually wear with a blouse or blazer!  The faux-leather look is so chic and the fit is so flattering.  And this Cascade zip-up jacket is seriously comfortable and wear so well.  I get so many compliments on it, especially on the stripe lining detail.  I may or may not be wear it as I type…. 🙂

I can totally relate to you when you say that you miss the days when you could work out whenever you wanted but was too lazy to do so. Now that I have a newborn, it's so hard for me to have any time by myself, let alone time to workout. I agree that cute clothes motivates me to exercise more and I never regret a good workout!
