Glowing Skin for Date Night

This post is sponsored by Walgreens. All thoughts are my own.

The weekend is fast approaching. Thank goodness! The hubbs has been traveling this week and this single mom status is getting old…fast! I see a glass of wine and a night out in my future.

But let’s face it, I have come to terms with the fact that night outs is far and few between these days. When I do get a chance to get out of the house for a night out, I like to make them count. I also love to feel and look like my best self….not the everyday mom-self. Since I don’t always have the much time to contour or glam out the perfect smokey eye, I always do my best to ensure my skin is looking great. Creating the best canvas with great skin will ensure that no matter how much or little makeup you pour on top, a healthy appearance is noticeable.

I have learned to rely on 3 easy steps to ensure my skin looks great for public viewing. First, I cleanse the day away with makeup removing wipes. I always have face towelettes on hand for quick cleansing, especially pre-shower. I’ve been using Studio 35 Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes and love that they’re so soft and non-abrasive on my skin. You can grab them at Walgreens for under $6. At this price, I definitely stock up on them.

Then, I take a steamy shower. The warmth and steam opens up my pores for a deeper cleansing. I never feel right about putting on makeup unless I start with a super clean face, and I feel the steam also leaves my skin a bit more plump and youthful.

And lastly, I do a quick mask to absorb excess oil and the extra gunk just sitting under the skin. I have been obsessed with charcoal products lately. Known for the detoxifying benefits, charcoal skincare products are all the rage for good reason. This Studio 35 Detoxifying Black Charcoal Mask caught my eye at my recent trip to Walgreens, and felt in love with it at first use. The texture is rich and smooth, and leaves a slight tingle. I always take tingly skin as a sign that its working. 🙂

I have been impressed with Walgreens‘ selection of beauty products. Going to a department store seems daunting at times, and definitely takes a bit of effort. So I’m glad my neighbor Walgreens has great selection of quality skincare products to choose from, and so much easier to grab and go. And most importantly, the prices can’t be beat! Discovering these Studio 35 products have really been a win win situation for this busy mama.
