We ventured out of Orange County this weekend to do a little pumpkin patch excursion. And I had heard about this place called Oak Glen where we could also do apple picking, so we drove east about an hour to kill two birds with one stone. Oak Glen is vast with plenty of orchards and farms to choose from, but we stopped where everyone seemed to be going, Riley’s Apple Farm. It was so fun! The weather was perfect, the crowds manageable and the experience was definitely worthwhile.
Although we didn’t get to do any actual apple-picking (you have to get there before 10a since the season has actually passed), we did get to walk around the orchards and explore the grounds. There were a lot of kids running around so Jax loved just watching and taking everything in. Of course, I had to get a good pumpkin shot of him so I put him down on the ground by a few pumpkins which was well and good…until he started crawling around and got pricked by some thorns!!! Screams and tears ensued. I felt so bad!!! Total bad mom moment. 🙁 But he was fine after a minute and started laughing again at the kids so we proceed to capture a couple shots as a family before leaving.
If you feel like driving to Beaumont, its worth a stop at Riley’s Farm.
