Pregnant update: Third Trimester…so far…

I CAN’T BELIEVE BABY W WILL BE HERE IN 7 WEEKS OR LESS.  This is the thought that runs through my mind every night this week as I lay awake at around 330 or 4 AM!!!  The realization is finally hitting me and while I’m so excited, I’m feeling a little unprepared.  I feel like this pregnancy has gone by so fast, and I hardly had a chance to even think about, much less prep for it as much as I did with Jaxson. But can you really be prepared for a new baby?!  Every pregnancy and every baby is so different, so I guess I’m just letting Jesus take the wheel on this one.  😉

I know I haven’t been great at doing pregnancy updates on here.  Truthfully, it has been pretty uneventful.  and THANKFULLY SO!  All tests and scans came back perfect, symptoms and milestones were on time and really nothing to really worry about.  I thank God every day for such a healthy and easy pregnancy.  But it doesn’t make for any interesting updates, so I have basically been quiet on this front, mainly sharing style tips and basics products I’m loving, etc on Instagram.

But since I’m well into my 3rd trimester, I did want to share a few things in case you’re wondering about some basics pregnancy happenings…here goes…

Best part of pregnancy so far: Seeing how excited Jaxson is about baby brother.  He felt baby kicks a couple weeks ago, and he’s been taking about it ever since. I really appreciate the age gap between our boys. While I think there will still be some period of adjustment once the baby is born, I think Jax is old enough to understand and will love having a new baby around!

Worst part of pregnancy so far: The last couple of weeks, I started getting waking up at 3:30 in the morning, every single morning!  And its not even to go to the bathroom!  I don’t know if its just pregnancy insomnia as they call it, or anxiety and stress of so much to do, but its not fun. I LOVE my sleep and I was hoping to take advantage of the last few weeks before baby comes to sleep as much as I can.

Weight Gain: I have gained 30 lbs. so far.  A bit more than I gained the last time around!  By the end of the pregnancy, I will have likely gained around 40 lbs.

Exercise: I worked out about 3-4 days a week until about a couple weeks ago.  I stopped working out as much not really due to energy or anything like that, but more because of lack of time!  With John traveling so much, and a busy season all around for our family, working out has taken a back seat. I have started to feel some lower back aches so maybe its best I take it easy anyway.

Baby Shower:  We decided to a do a Sip & See / 100 Days celebration after the baby is born instead of a shower this time!  The 100 first days is a traditional celebration in Chinese culture that marks the end of the first 3 months of life for a new baby…basically it’s the end of the fourth trimester! The Chinese believe that the first 100 days is when the baby and mom are most vulnerable and still recovering, so they are advised to stay indoors to avoid illness.  We definitely won’t be staying indoors for 100 days, but we will definitely celebrate the end!  Also, I kept so much stuff from Jaxson, and fortunately my job allows me to try out a bunch of baby gear and work with some of my favorite baby brands, so there are very few things I actually need for the new baby.  And again with John traveling so much, the added stress of a party just felt unnecessary.

Baby Moon:  We went Hawaii in August for a family trip / babymoon, but I’m hoping the hubbs and I can sneak away for a spa staycation or something in the next couple weeks!

Pregnancy Skin:  My skin has been pretty normal the whole pregnancy.  I am sticking to pregnancy safe products and focusing on hydration!  And thankfully no stretch marks as of yet. You can see the oils I’m currently using here!

Cravings: I don’t really have a lot of cravings, but I have noticed when I do have one, I need to have it for weeks on end, and then suddenly I loose interest. During the first trimester, I couldn’t get enough flamin’ hot Cheetos!  In the second tri, I ate peaches like it was my job (literally 3 a day).  And now, all I want is warm bread or any baked goods…basically, give all the carbs!!

I am praying that the last couple months will continue to be as easy!  And as always if you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

Lastly, I love reading about different pregnancy journeys!  And I have teamed up with a few of my favorite pregnant bloggers on today’s pregnancy update series! Check them out below!  Each of them are sharing updates from where they are currently in the pregnancies.

There is somewhat of a blogger baby boom happening this year,  and its so fun to hear from other amazing women during various stages of pregnancies!  You won’t want to miss this amazing mamas (and mamas-to-be!).
